What is your favorite place to get burgers in Phoenix?

***CRITERIA - They have to have thick burgers. I do NOT want a burger with multiple patties, just ONE thick a$s burger!! Thanks in advance.

It seems Fat A$s has closed in PHX (see Fat Ass Burger - CLOSED - Burgers - 3102 N 16th St - Phoenix, AZ - Reviews - Phone Number - Yelp ). Maybe this Kuntucky joint might come to AZ Hugh Ass Burgers in Lexington, Kentucky with Reviews & Ratings - YP.com . It's a Huge A$s Burger joint.

I'm with you. Multiple patties cannot pass the mustard (no pun intended). The best burgers are thick and pink inside. Use freshly ground chuck. The only added flavor you need is exclusively salt and pepper (initially I didn't believe him). Then you add your condiments. See https://tecinfrared.com/cooking-times/ . But sale JUST prior to putting it on the grill. Here is why:

"Turns out that salt really has a major influence on the texture of ground beef, which affects the texture of the final cooked burger. J. Kenji Lopez-Alt at Serious Eats did a thorough study of salting ground beef and says if you salt too early, the salt breaks down the proteins in the meat. The result is "stickier" meat that forms longer strands, resulting in denser, tougher patties." The Best Moment to Salt Your Burgers

Another secret is to cook them on a infared grill like this one https://tecinfrared.com/cooking-times/ . So if you want the best burger in PHX, your best option is in your back yard!

My vote goes to Original Wineburger, 19th Ave&Rovey (just north of Bethany Home), and they have alcohol as well

The District in Scottsdale has an awesome "thick ass burger". Went there a couple of weeks ago on a Groupon and was nicely surprised!

I like Tim Finnigans jalapeno burger. Half price ($10-$5) on Mondays. Just West of the I17, Just north of Dunlap, between Conns and the amusement park/mall.

The stand (over on Indian School) is good, Houston's, and surprisingly the parlor has good burgers.

AZ88 is pretty good too, I more so just like the enviornement of their outdoor seating and their fries/hell's fire chips that come with though lol.

Right up your alley, burgers are local, lean and cooked med rare. It's the greatest, and they're expanding to Phoenix soon!

At 6oz it's not a "fat ass" burger but they look interesting none the less!

DB in Flagstaff is great, but not cheap. Everything is locally produced. Phx will be lucky to have one.
