I see the ring of clouds today around the valley today. I wonder if we'll get smashed tonight. Hopefully more than dry lightning. We don't need any more fires this year.

If today's avg dewpoint is 55+, then the monsoon's 1st day will have been Mon 27th, both Mon and yesterday had avg dewpoints 55+, today is looking to be magic day #3

I'm seeing 52 as the average dewpoint for yesterday per NWS Phoenix climate summary for June 28. May have to wait a few more days. Regardless, it's all semantics, we all know the monsoon is here regardless, the 55 dewpoint thing is what we all look for but since we have had a couple days in a row with monsoonal storms and have had rain at the airport, I think it's safe to say the monsoon started already.

YAY! It rained dirt again!

My pool had every leaf and twig in it from a 10 block radius this AM, and my patio chairs had been tossed around.

I LOVE the smell of rain and don't consider it a "stench". I guess because I grew up with it and it has usually always heralded some good rain weather. Because it's normally so dry I always notice the humidity right away. I actually like some humidity. It's good for your hair, skin and nails.

With any luck, it will be an actual monsoon this year. With real rain!
Not just a couple of giant haboobs that blow through town, followed by a couple of clouds that drop maybe 36 or 37 drops of rain to mess up your windshield. Not to mention team coverage from every TV station in town... "Phoenix hit by MAJOR MONSOON STORM!"
