Some people are taking exception to the edge of town comment, but it is what it is. There's areas of Chandler, Scottsdale, Peoria etc that I would also call the edge of town, I agree.

I'm not taking exception to anything other than not having jobs. With 125,000 people, all professions can prosper. Well, maybe not engineering.

The west is not totally devoid of high paying jobs. Bechtel, a global engineering and project management firm, with real engineers with PEs not some geek coders who think they are "engineers" is on the 101 in Glendale. Skanska USA is another global engineering firm. They have offices in north Peoria. In fact, most of the firms I worked for in my eng career were in the south, central, or west. Never had a job on the east side.

I agree with your stance on income. There are plenty of higher paying jobs in the west valley.

I stand corrected on my engineering statement. I was thinking that the majority of the more technical jobs resided near Chandler.
