We're definitely going to move to the area but are wanting to move where there's good schools, lower crime, and is kid friendly. I have two three year olds and a six year old to give you an idea. Any feedback you can give is valuable. I've heard to look in the eastern region of Phoenix but I've had one person tell me that Glendale is also ok. Truthfully...any place has to be better than Milwaukee.

Glendale is very nice, especially the northern parts. Arrowhead Ranch is a decent neighborhood. I live in north Peoria which is also a very desirable spot. The schools rate well here in Peoria.

We're originally from WI too, so welcome soon to AZ!

There are quite a few areas around the Phoenix area that meet your criteria. We chose Peoria because of the excellent school district, and chose Vistancia because it is an amazing master planned community. My family and I love living here. I, as well as others have written a lot about Peoria, Vistancia, etc, already so just search this website for those words and you'll come up with loads of info. Best wishes in your home search!

Vistancia is nice. So is Anthem. DC Ranch. McDowell Mountain Ranch. Estrella Mountain. Verrado. Greyhawk. Desert Ridge.

It really comes down to how much do you want to pay for a house and where you are going to work.

We're looking to spend between $175K to $250k for a 4 bedroom home, newer preferably and in a planned community or a newer subdivision. I've been in Technical Support for over 10 years. I was basically told the tech jobs are everywhere.

There are several homes here in Vistancia that would fit your budget. The investor invasion left a few "bank owned" properties that are very tempting. A few of the builders here still have lots available and these would also fit your budget. Best of luck in your search.

The southeastern region of Phoenix would be Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe,l Apache Junction and Queen Creek. Gilbert has good schools, is kid friendly, and has a low crime rate. Queen Creek housing prices are very low....but unless you can telecommute, it isn't the most feasible for most people.

I'm from Wisconsin and we live in Gold Canyon now. Peralta Elementary School is great! The views are amazing and you'd pay triple for one of our houses in Scottsdale ! Check it out!
