No one ever said that speed was the number 1 cause of the accidents but it is the speed that reduces the effectiveness of safety devices like seatbelts and airbags.

Ok, dumb question, but why not leave the house ten minutes earlier and heed the speed limit? I mean, My.God, this IS NOT rocket science. Not even worth saying much over. Sheesh!

Yet another reason to want to get the heck out of here - try to reason with people who just will not follow simple instructions - like the speed limit. God my head hurts.

However, I believe you are correct about Red Light Violations so, according to your logic, the Red Light Cameras are OK but the Speeding Cameras are not? Statistics be damn, I can assure you from personal experience since I live a couple of blocks from a Red Light Camera Intersection . . . accidents have been reduced tremendously. Prior to the cameras, accidents, some extremely major, were almost a daily event, after the camera installation an accident is almost a rarity.

Bottom line . . . for those insisting the cameras are nothing but a Big Brother Money Source; so be it and tough toenails as long as they save lives and reduce personal injuries and property damage while they are making money.

Yes, it does seem that all forms of Socialism are alive and well in the good ol' US of A.

I think you're missing some very basic issues involved and essentially saying, "To hell with the Constitution." The increased safety of a few does not justify the forcible removal of the rights of the majority.

By your logic, we should outlaw driving-- I'm sure a heck of a lot more than just one life will be saved.

It's funny how the slowpokes and the ones who embrace the cameras will spew such nonsense as "leave earlier". It doesn't always work that way. For instance, I was a care giver for my father a few years ago before we had to put him in a nursing home. When he suffered a small stroke while riding in the car with me, I put the pedal to the metal and rushed him to the closest hospital. I'm now a care giver for my aging mother ... and rushing her to a hospital or doctor may be necessary once again. With photo radar, I could be cited several times on such an emergency trip. I don't need to be held up by self appointed speed enforcers who apparently don't have a life, and have never been in family emergency situtations.

Couldn't agree more! Some people are obviously ignorant to an Arizona law which TRUMPS any speed limit posting ... and that law clearly says that slower traffic must keep to the right lane. That law is absolute, but speed limits are not all absolute.

Yes, let's outlaw all forms of driving ... including emergency vehicles, police cars, and delivery trucks. Do away with those big rigs too. They take up too much space on the roads, and many of those rig drivers are sleep deprived & inattentive as a result. Heck, let's just do away with all roads. Everybody aboard the light rail!

Do pigs fly?! There's nothing BUT skewed data (if you can call it "data" at all) the propaganda machine spews out on anything.
