Embarrassing really, what has this been like the second semi-decent snowfall of the season so far?

I was in Boston a few weeks ago and they got 20 inches of snow. Yet somehow it wasn't that big of an issue because they had bulldozers in the street getting things cleared up. Pittsburgh could learn a thing or two from them.

This is actually the first time this season I've been very disappointed by the city's response to a snowstorm. I was making deliveries early yesterday afternoon while there was a mix of sleet and freezing rain, and I didn't pass one truck salting or pre-treating the roadways. Within an hour of the changeover to snow most roads became very treacherous. For what it's worth the roads I was on in Penn Hills at the time were worse than the city roads I traversed, but I was still pretty ticked off that not one road I was driving on seemed to have been pre-treated. "The weather men screwed up" is not a valid excuse, as I've already learned since living here that our local meteorologists are awful (I have eight solid inches in Polish Hill when initially only a slushy inch or two was predicted). I seriously think there is some levity behind the roads not being treated as well because it was a holiday. Holiday for whom? Not many people get Presidents' Day off anymore.

I did get a few chuckles out of those comments but man, people who comment on that site are the lowest form of Yinzer possible.

I can even understand the delayed response yesterday evening. The storm arrived earlier and was much more intense than forecast. But the snow ended at midnight. WTF did the road crews do for 8 hours between 12am and 8am? Most main roads were still in terrible condition this morning.
