So I posted a while ago, about how I am considering relocating from DC to Pitts. Well, I finally got up there this weekend to spend some time and check it out. We stayed downtown, and visited some family and friends while there too. My relative works in the southside area, so we spent some time there. Also spent some time in Lawrenceville, and mostly drove through the other areas and looked around.

I really like Lawrenceville and Bloomfield. South side was nice too. Pitts is really full of character. It seems old, but still hip, and has some cool artsy places.

I am really leaning towards a relocation. It seems like it makes the most sense since, it's less expensive than where I am now, it's smaller, and I have relatives there. I've only lived in one other city (outside the DC area) before, so it seems it would be a relatively easy adjustment for me.

Anyway, why the heck not? I'm not getting any younger, and I don't have anything really keeping me here....

exciting and scary at the same time!

Please don't call it "Pitts." That's really lame and will only annoy people. Don't want to get off on the wrong foot.

Yes, as we established once, the official abbreviation is "Pgh".

Don't half the locals refer to it as "Sh*tsburgh" anyway?

WDCgirl, welcome to Pittsburgh, or whatever you wish to call it! Relocating is scary, but this is an easy place to adjust to if you have a GPS, LOL. It isn't that far from DC and you can take the train.

Hi all. Thanks for the tip! I'll make sure I don't use the name "Pitts" anymore, and stop being too lazy to type it all out... Pittsburgh. See that wasn't so hard
