Weird, and actually kind of ridiculous. They won't even say when Amazon visited, even though it already happened????

Why is it ridiculous? Why does it matter?

Why do you care what I think is ridiculous? Why are you asking?

Seriously dude, a reporter asks when they visited and he won't say. Why not, why does it matter if people know when they visited?

Government officials being extremely secretive, even about trivial details is generally not a good thing.

Or maybe he doesn’t know for sure if there was an official visit and doesn’t want to give bad info...I honestly don’t care and think it’s still a very slim chance Amazon will make PIT it’s second home. I’m betting on Atlanta, followed by Boston. I’m sure Amazon will do some expansion here, but not the 50000 grand prize.

Last report I heard was that they were in Raleigh.

I have some hope. Some are still saying Pittsburgh is a leading candidate. Amazon is valuing secrecy so maybe that's why officials aren't saying much.

I wonder what games Amazon is playing here. They HAVE to be concerned with incentives, but from this article it seems as if they're also quite concerned about attracting younger talent base as well.

In Pittsburgh visit, Amazon didn't ask much about incentives | TribLIVE

"What do we have to pay in salaries to compete with Google and Facebook and Apple?"

I still think this is one of the biggest factors they will be considering. Tax incentives are great for the company, but being able to pay their employees 30-80k( or more in some cases) less per person will amount to Billions in savings per year. There is no chance its not a huge consideration.

This IMO is the only thing that makes Pittsburgh a contender to begin with. Aside from low housing and labor costs it seems other cities have Pittsburgh beat handily. Can the cheap cost of labor make up for all of the other shortcomings as the horrible roads? I am thinking that's the only real question for locating to Pittsburgh.

Have you ever lived in Pittsburgh?
What about visited overnight?
You don't seem like you know much about the area, tbh...
