Aside from the fact that the percentage of government employees vaccinated is not generalizable to anything...lol What is this article trying to prove? Oh right...that the COVID vaccine is so dangerous that government insiders knew enough to avoid it.

But if I choose to entertain that assertion, then not only would I believe that 50% chose not to be vaccinated--it would follow that 50% chose to BE vaccinated. Pretty impressive given that the average rate of COVID vaccination across U.S. states is 36.64% with Pennsylvania slightly below at 35%.

Historically, adult coverage vaccination has been similar for influenza:
(2010-2016) > 19 years--37.2 to 44.8% (cdc.gov).
And influenza vaccination rates are higher than most other vaccination rates.

Many adults in the United States have not received recommended vaccinations.
As long as vaccines have existed. humans have been suspicious of the shots and the people who give them. Since the development of the successful smallpox vaccine in the 1700's, which utilized the cowpox virus--fear of the unknown persisted with cartoons depicting people vaccinated morphing into cows. Today, outlandish rumors related to autism, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, infertility, etc. persist.
And those spreading stories about horrific side effects. Fear is powerful AND viral.

So....I dont expect message board stats will reduce the fears some hold. There will always be the frightened and ill-informed. With disease so preventable and treatment so accessible...its very sad.

Choose not to have the vaccine--thats your choice--but do others the favor of wearing a mask and/or avoiding groups where children or the immunocompromised may congregate. They don't have a choice!

Frankly he said he didn’t know but suggested 60% HAVE been vaccinated. No where does it say “why” those potential 40% of employees were no vaccinated. Maybe 90% or vaccinated. He simply guessed a number he thought was minimum. Maybe we’ll find out a real number later, but it’s simply lack of data, not data to the opposite.

Fauci’s the expert. If it was 90% vaccinated there wouldn’t be an article and he wouldn’t have said anything about it.

OMG--Unless you have a breakdown of the employee classification, you can't make such an assertion. The group may be (most likely) heterogeneous and consist of office workers, maintenance, security, medical personnel, researchers, etc. who are not all equal regarding epidemiological expertise.
SMH...Critical thinking skills.....please.

First you linked an article from February suggesting there wasn’t enough vaccines available and now you’re suggesting that 50% of NIH employees being vaccinated is a good thing. When NIH employees aren’t choosing to get vaccinated, it should certainly be seen as a concern.

So first you use a lack of vaccinations and a reliable source as an an excuse, and now you’re questioning what Fauci said in the article.

I agree. Critical thinking skills are needed, especially versus ones own feelings who think they know what everyone should do.

Been listening to the Fan and 105.9, and the hosts have said Pirates have lifted mask mandates at PNC for fully vaccinated folks, but it’s on the honor system, so they also must think it’s not so important.

Certainly they do not stop airflow as that would kill the wearers, but the question is how much liquid aerosol do they reduce. Even if it was only 25%, that’s better than 0. I know there are many that would pretend that masks are the end all be all, but reduction of viral load is still reduction of viral load.
