Speaking of people and children getting killed, too bad Sleepy Joe couldn’t keep the peace like his predecessor, and Putin has attacked while he’s in office for a second time. Diesel fuel is down to a 25 day supply in the united states, it is being reported to run out by Thanksgiving. There is a portland shortage in this country. I have been told by multiple Friends that they can't get concrete anymore. On top of that some of the railroad unions have rejected the government negotiated contract that biden was on 60 minutes bragging about. We are on the brink of people not being able to heat their homes, trucking shutting down along with rail roads and the construction industry being crippled.

Not sure why you single out "woke america" -- I mean, you folks hate the Nytimes, but certainly Tom Friedman has been writing about the coming crunch for months:

It's getting pretty close with Biden, AOC and their Socialist notions. Hopefully we get some sanity back in a few weeks when thousands of unqualified people are ousted from government and have to get real jobs. I am for the America first, protect our national security and freedoms. The government and media are hiding these problems until after the midterms. While we are shipping our fuel off to Ukraine and European countries we Americans will suffer with the entire transportation system sutting down or fuel costing so much that inflation will skyrocket.

I guess two points would be as follows:

1. I think that the story is being covered, but even it was not, folks can see the price of gas, etc. etc. and these factors are largely being cited for the swing back to the polling/conventional wisdom that we are likely to see a Republican wave in the elections.

2. I think there was push back to both Kevin McCarthy's comments about Ukraine aid this week, as well as the House Dem letter (which was ultimately withdrawn). This tells me that the "adults" in both parties are still (perhaps barely) in charge of the Ukraine issue, and that we will (perhaps with more dissenters) still see bipartisan consensus on the need to continue funding Ukraine's war effort.
