Wrapping up, Barton said: "I apologize. I do not want to live in a country where any time a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong, is subject to some sort of political pressure that is, again, in my words — amounts to a shakedown, so I apologize."
Cute. When is he leaving? I will help him pack.

It's a wonder that his words were audible, considering the fact that his head was so far up BP's a$$.

What I would like to say to the idiot from Texas face
Quote:
GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas — the ranking member on the House Energy Committee — made a decisive splash in his opening remarks. A staunch conservative who has a long record of backing oil industry interests

OH SHUT UP you idiot from Texas .. how much did you get offered as a pay off to save this company's arse? .. I feel sorry for Texas with reps like Barton the boob..
BP owes the American coast line BILLIONS for the long term damages they have done to that area.. I am not alwauys an BHO fan but what he did ask for was NOT enough to fix the issues that one greedy company caused..

#1 - BP did everything (pre-explosion) that the government allowed them to do. Why isn't the government financially responsible?
#2 - What Obama and his goons did is illegal by using threats to get money from BP in lieu of Congressional legislation.
#3 - Both sides in government was on the take from BP. Don't act as though BP only funded the right.

The Dems have to..they have to yell loud and clear and it has to be all, 100% BP's fault. No one in the government did anything wrong..got it ?

I also believe that BP is getting an unfair deal here...they did what the government allowed them to do. 50-50 blame.

BP is being equated to blaming Bush for all that is wrong in America today.

no I disagree with that .. the BP has been taking shortcuts in amny areas to increase profit and speed of drilling ..
we shouldnt have allowed the off shore true BUT trusting a profit driven company like BP is just asking for a disaster .. and look what happened
