They really cut him to pieces in Daily Kos. Most of the stuff about McChrystal was well known before he was appointed by Obama to port the Iraq Strategy (also known as the El Salvador Option or the Phoenix Program) to Afghanistan.

Daily Kos: The REAL McChrystal story

If people would read a bit they would find that the HERO has said that Obama's strategy's wont work.

Obama SAID he would listen to the experts on the ground and of course has not.

He has gone against many ideas of the EXPERT HEROS on the ground.

McChrystal is above and beyond the lame duck fool in the WH.

If anything he needs to go to the WH and kick some ass and let us all know just how BAD of a commander in thief has been.

Sad to see idiots taken the side of Obama on this issue and making an American hero out to be something he is not.

The candy ass in WH would not last one day on the ground with the real American hero's.

Another great hero who is retiring because of the lame duck in the WH who cannot even get together a group of 10 people to stop an oil spill let alone run our military.

Obama has 2 months to have our troops out of Iraq AS PROMISED!

Lets see if he lied to us once again.

Obama has given the civilian leadership, Eikenberry as much authority as Mac, which was a mistake.

The amb has tried to usurp power from Mac, an environment that obama has fostered.

Mac should resign and leave the wimps in the WH to it.

Even this little guy can smell the crap.

The real truth is if he doesn't understand the chain of command he's the weak link in the chain.

The real truth is you don't understand how the military works.

If the General doesn't agree with Obama he should resign. Which is apparently what he is doing.

What can you expect. You criticize the Boss, you get the hammer dropped.
I would follow the General into Hell before I would follow Obama into McDonalds.

Do you have a link where McCrystal says that, because this stratergy was McCrystals idea which Biden opposed and Obama supported.

We have watched Obama let the Republicans run all over him for 2 years now. Even to the point that one of them stood up and called him a liar during the State of the Union address! Could you even imagine a Congressman doing that to Reagan or LBJ? But they can do it to Obama and get NO punishment. If a Congressman had done that to LBJ, LBJ would have come down off the podium and gave him a good old fashioned ass whuppin. And there would not have been a CENT of federal money in for his district in the next budget.
Then Obama let the Democrats run all over him. They all know there are no consequences to messing with Obama. Joe Liberman got away with it. Went to the Republican convention and punked Obama. But Obama says "welcome back Joe, here is your Committee back".
But NONE of that is as dangerous to this nation as allowing a MILITARY subordinate to punk the President in public. That goes at the very heart of civilian command and control over the military. It is what sets the USA apart from tin horn dictatorships where the military runs the government. Harry Truman recognized that fact which is why he fired General McCarthur.
Obama should have fired him yesterday. There is no reason to "summon" him to the White House. Pick up the damn telephone and say "you are fired". If this guy is still a General tomorrow, we need to look for another candidate to run in 2012.
Well, I already was looking for another candidate after his first bowing to a foreign leader.....didn't take up till now to come to that conclusion.

I almost feel badly for McChrystal. He was stuck trying to complete and succeed in a mission with a commander who clearly doesn't value the military whatsoever or listen to the recommendations from those on the ground fighting this war. However, McChrystal voted for Obama. He helped get him elected, so he kinda got what he wanted.

The moral of this story is... Be Careful What You Wish For!
