Nissan is majority owned by Renault which is partially owned by the French state. Don't let facts get in your way though and, please, continue to babble talking points.
Pay no mind to the fact that the Prius has been around for several years now, and the Volt is brand new. Product evolution doesn't count for anything, does it? You think *maybe* Toyota has learned a few lessons since the first Prius?
General Motors employs a lot of Americans, I see no reason to take delight in one of their products underperforming. Why so happy about it? Just so you can throw rocks at the Fed Gov? There are lots of other, better reasons to do that, IMO.

I will celebrate every quarter that Ford outperforms GM. Now that the government is out of the picture and done enough damage to GM, maybe it's possible they can finally compete with Ford.
I don't know much about the Prius and haven't even heard about the Leaf before this thread, is the Prius a 4 or 2 door car or available in both options? I'm also pretty sure that the Volt weighs more because it's got a lot more battery weight than the other two giving it more range due to it's larger size.

Can't force people to buy what they don't want or need.
