5 Ridiculous Things You Probably Believe About Islam | Cracked.com

Pretty sad that Cracked Magazine does a better job addressing this than any of the major news sites.

Pretty sad that anyone even reads Cracked. It was a second-rate knock-off of Mad Mag even in the 70s.

Read the Onion. It's funnier and free.

In the '70s, that was true. But Mad Mag hasn't been funny in years.

Can't disagree with that.

Default Take pride in ignorance

The responses on this thread are a classic example of hostility towards any education. You try to give people facts and they respond "no thanks I know enough"

Basing your views on silly things like facts and reason just isn't in style anymore.

All religions have stupid zealots.

The problem with Islam is they are a younger religion, in a volatile part of the world, so they have more stupid zealots.

Christianity went through the same period, and we got the crusades, the inquisitions, and the witch trials, not to mention the hundreds of other people that died in the name of Christ.

Moderate Muslims can do one thing, and one thing only. Completely, 100% denounce the worst zealots amongst you, without hesitation and in massive numbers that can't be ignored. I'm not saying that the United States is guilt free when it comes to the Muslim world, but you've got to be the bigger person here. I'm hoping for a moderate, democratic muslim state in Egypt and other places.

Religion as a whole has done stupid things, and been used by the rich, powerful, and leaders of the world to manipulate the minds of the easily manipulated. More people have been killed in the name of their "God" then for any other reason in the history of mankind. That says something about "religion".

I must say that a response such as your shows how some folks simply chose to disregard the beliefs of others, classic intolerance. Perhaps the hostility is towards the educator and not the education.
