yeah all that stuff is going to go away now. I predict a big drop off in dishonest behaviour in general.
Of course not, but proving who you are has certainly cut down on the occurance for now. As the dishonest devise better ways of mastering this type of criminal behavior the authorities need to devise a better plan to combat it. Perhaps a national ID. I dont fear that anymore than the IDs I have to provide now and perhaps they will be harder to fake.
Because the second half of the national ID program is to require anyone who gets hired anywhere to have to show the national ID card and there will be instant confirmation via computer for employers to be able to see if the card was reported lost or stolen or if it's faked from someone dead. Now, with illegals using fake S.S. cards, that S.S. data is spread out over 3 data bases and it takes up to two weeks (or longer) for employers to get confirmation on a good or bad card. By then, the day and field work those illegals often get is over and the illegal is long gone. Cut off the employment opportunities for illegals is how the national ID card will severely limit their reasons for coming here in the first place.
Right..with no government money to provide that it's not going to happen.

Who was majority in the 109th, you ask? Why REPUBLICAN's...that's right...in both the House and Senate, as well as President Bush.

Txgolfer. Are you too lazy to even glance at the Dept of Homeland Security link that I provided? Yes the bill was passed in 2005. I'm not disputing that. I'm WELL AWARE of that. What YOU FAIL TO REALIZE is that the law as written was not supposed to go into effect until TODAY. I don't start threads without knowing my position is correct.

you already have a national id number(ss) why not have a card with a picture on it??? are you afraid the big bad boogyman will come???

but having a SINGULAR national id and database..and not 51 different databases would actually eliminate much of the eronoius info out there...and lower costs

a national standard show the difference between the two..while the SEPERATE databases could easily get mixed up...and doing things 51 times is more costly
