But, then again, the 'conservatives' on this board sure do like arnold schwarzenegger and think nothing of his cheating on his wife and fathering children out of wedlock.
How many times are you going to copy/paste that lie into a new thread that has nothing to do with it? Are you jealous that he didn't cheat with you, or just upset that the former gov of CA cheating doesn't matter nearly as much as controlling rampant federal government spending and job killing bills?
Conservatives don't like Arnold, I'm sure you completely missed the many complaints about him being a RINO since it doesn't fit in your skewed view of the world. Republicans in CA might have liked him because he wasn't a Democrat.
No doubt. Most republican supporters are delusional and play into their master's lies. The politicians claiming "jobs are #1!" yet no jobs are created. "less government!" yet overwhelmingly supported the patriot act.
It's a good thing Obama and the dems overturned the Patriot Act when they had absolute control of the House, Senate and Whitehouse...oh wait, they didn't. Well then at least the liberals demanded that they do it...oh yeah, they didn't do that either. Well then at least Obama has improved the job market, oh, damn we're still at 9% unemployment.
The usual right wing assumption is that they are the patriots. They are the defenders of the republic. They are the glue that holds America together.
If that's the case, I have some inconsistencies to point out.
1. Why is it that these right wing talk jocks "support the military" yet none of them has served a single day; indeed some went to lengths to avoid service.
2. How is daily spouting aimed at angering their audience with divisive half-truths and mischaracterizations at helpful to America? Portraying fellow Americans as enemies is hardly patriotic in any sense. It's demagoguery, pure and simple.
3. Fostering a "no compromise" mindset is the opposite of political activity. It results in deadlock. Politics is the art of compromise.
4. While falling over each other to denounce unions, these guys are union members themselves.
1. There are a lot of people that never served. But I would like to see your evidence of who exactly went to great lengths to avoid service.
2. Again, where is your evidence of portraying americans as enemies? If you'd like to see that, just look at this administration that issued a warning about returning service members being terrorists.
3. Politics is about compromise, but it's hard to work with a group that doesn't want your input, and has an attitude of "we won, you lost".
4. You do know there is a huge difference between private and public unions, don't you?
Why do liberals constantly attack conservative spokesmen and women?
Add conservative minorities to that list, too. For the party that pretends to be all about minorities and women, they sure are the most vile when they attack conservatives.
Bill Maher and Kieth Olberman are as guilty of the same sins as the Rush and Beck crowd.
In the end it really is all about money, though. The people who listen to opinion shows, be they right or left leaning, aren't interested in educating themselves or learning all there is to know about a subject in order to have a reasoned and thoughtful opinion. They listen to have their own opinions and prejudices reinforced. They listen to feel like they belong to a larger community that shares their same beliefs and values. Affer all, if all these guys believe it, then I am in good company. And there is always good money to he made in telling the masses what they want to hear. There is a reason Rupert Murdock also owns the Star and several other gossip rags, he plays to the lowest common denominator that makes him the biggest bucks. If the masses in this country leaned more liberal than conservative, you can bet Fox news would make MSNBC look like the National Review and Rush Limbaugh would have posters of Mao and Che on his studio walls.
