Some troubled homosexuals undergo therapy with trained professionals. Others turn to public forums where they seek reassurance by engaging in partisan political propaganda and insulting complete strangers with whom they disagree.

It would make just as much sense to say the same about those who are anti-gay. In other words, it doesn't make sense at all.
Apparently someone forgot to tell those still seeking help.
Yeah, probably part of the 32% of Americans who still think homosexuality should be illegal. They're not doing any favors for the mental health of those who are struggling with their same-sex attractions.
So what? So what if Bachmann's husband offers Reparative Therapy for those Homosexuals who want to try and change? So what if it only works 30% of the time? Why shouldn't someone be able to try it if they want to? No one seems to complain when some TransGendered person decides to undergo extensive invasive, mutilating, expensive surgery to change who they are. Just because some homosexuals seem happy with who they are, why must everyone conform to your way? Seems a bit hypocritical to me. As well as just another chance to bash Bachmann. Geeeeez.
Sure the client can try if they want to. But an ethical honest therapist would present honest research results from reputable sources on so-called reparative therapy to a client first, so they can decide themselves if they want to waste $1000's and $1000's on ineffective and potentially harmful "therapy". It's part of "informed consent".
It doesn't work 30% of the time. It doesn't even work 1% of the time if someone is actually homosexual and not just a little bi-sexual.
Why is it considered impossible for homosexuals to turn straight? Straight people have turned homosexual, even when they weren't gay in the past. The same can happen with homosexual people.
Seeing how a large percentage of people were referred by ex-gay ministries, I would be skeptical of the findings.
How many of those in 2001 are currently heterosexual? Did they actually tell the truth?
There are a lot of questions...
And the questions have been answered.
Yes the people were from ex-gay religious ministries - often paid employees with an agenda. Even Spitzer himself has admitted that many of the people may have lied to him. He has also objected to the misrepresentation of this phone survey "study" by anti-gay groups.
