But President Obama will get around to Black voters at some point during his campaign...the Republicans will not. They never do. If the Republican party actually wanted Black voters they would show up at the predominantly Black churches (who lean conservative in MANY ways) and speak with they congregations on the points which they agree strongly...but they don't, EVER. They would speak with the MANY Black professional organizations (for physcians, attorneys, business owners, etc) on their campaing stops....but they do not, EVER.
You are totally correct. Republicans can complain that blacks don't vote for them, but they shouldn't deny this crucial fact. They don't *ask* for black votes. Republican candidates don't go to black churches and black communities and build bridges. Why? Personally, I think because they're still not *quite* ready to abandon the white racist vote. What does a Republic candidate have to lose from going to black church? He or she could go there and emphasis the socially conservative issues they have in common. He or she could talk about strengthening the family and the positive effects that could have. Why don't they? Well, because Joe racist wouldn't like that -- and at the end of the day, that's the deal the Repubic party has made with the devil. They do go for the racist vote when they have to.
No offense, but why are you special? Why to you need to be coddled? You're a big boy, and if you agree with our policies more than you agree with theirs, we'd love to have you. I think that's one of the big differences between the two ideologies; conservatism believes in self sufficiency and being a go getter and liberalism believes in entitlement and having the government do it for you.
Conservatism also believes that corporations are people

It's garbage posts like this, that make you lose any credibility. Again, it is much more racist to believe that black Americans need welfare and affirmative action to succeed.

Affirmative Action is not based on the premise that African-Americans need help because they are inferior. It is based upon the premise that the system is stacked in favor of whites and it attempts to compensate for this discrepancy. It is a flawed domestic policy, but it is not predicated on black inferiority.
Welfare is not based on race, though African-Americans do make up a substantial percentage of welfare recipients. Nobody thinks that African-Americans need welfare, but some people think that some poor people need welfare. A lot of African-Americans are poor..you see where this is going.

I asked the question earlier, are they really blind to their own prejudices???...this thread seems to support that.

I'm white but I truly believe the Democrats coddle the black population. This is not just in the form of welfare payments, although the disproportion with which blacks receive welfare is an issue, but Dems also push policies such as Affirmative Action and other social programs that are not related to welfare.

Riiiiiiight, you keep telling yourself to assuage your liberal guilt. Every single Fortune 500 company has big time diversity programs to increase blacks in the workplace, especially management. Black Americans don't need a policy to help them succeed, they are just as capable as anyone else that has obstacles to overcome.
Regarding welfare, why does anyone "need" it if they are able bodied? I believe that black poor people can become upwardly mobile, just like any other poor person, don't you? The dems believe that poor black people must have the government supply all of their needs, that is racist.
