Maybe Clinton is the reason there are so many entilement-minded parents. The whole notion of "It takes a village to raise a child" is completely moronic and creates even more stupid parents. Trust me, I've seen some real entitlement- brains out there.
It's not moronic at all and is the reason my spouse and I moved to our current home near our extended family after wandering the country for a decade. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends are a source of support and guidance that I value a great deal.
It is also the way my father was raised after his father died of cancer in the early '40s. He and his mother were taken in by a "village" of family and friends who provided stability and support while my grandmother got back on her feet. They fed him, clothed him, helped him with his homework, gave him someplace to sleep, and provided discipline while my grandmother went to school in preparation for supporting the two of them independently after they lost their home paying for his father's treatment. If not for the "village" they would have ended up on the street.
As human beings, we are meant to live in community, and there is comfort in facing the challenges of life in the company of others.

Children have been raised by extended families and "villages" since the beginning of time. This is probably the first generation that does not live in close proximity to extended family. The idea that this is a Clinton invention is beyond moronic.

You are somewhat right. The school though has replaced that "extended family". And the school doesn't always listen to the parents.
So you believe grandparents are synonomous with the state.
Jesus, we are worse off than even I susptected.
You must be a product of our social education system.
And you're lacking a sense of humor. It was a joke!
