we should have pulled a Sweden, nationalized the banks , liquidated all shareholders' interests, and given all creditors a huge haircut.

Then, if you want to spur lending, do it among the surviving firms that didn't screw up.
Yes...

"Globalist progressive liberals" like Bush, huh?

gotta love that revisionist history. Republican party leadership didn't have the balls to stand up to the banks, neither did the Democrats. Both sides bought into the scare tactics.

They probably got thrown out of a soup kitchen somewhere, and that was a more convenient place to stink.

They are Alinskyites, rallying for communism, disguised as social justice. Pit the haves against the have nots, breed discontent, agitate, destroy the power base, remake America as they think it should be.
The followers have no clue what is going on, they hear the word change, and join. They are useful idiots.

An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent... He must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises....

"The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them. When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an 'agitator' they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your functionto agitate to the point of conflict."

"Process tells us how. Purpose tells us why. But in reality, it is academic to draw a line between them, they are part of a continuum.... Process is really purpose."

Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals

This is what MSNBC is all about, they will cover it.

yep

""Fascism is a system in which the government leaves nominal ownership of the means of production in the hands of private individuals but exercises control by means of regulatory legislation and reaps most of the profit by means of heavy taxation. In effect, fascism is simply a more subtle form of government ownership than is socialism."" Mussolini

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

- Norman Thomas, former U.S. Socialist Presidential Candidate

"A Marxist begins with his prime truth that all evils are caused by the exploitation of the proletariat by the capitalists. From this he logically proceeds to the revolution to end capitalism, then into the third stage of reorganization into a new social order of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and finally the last stage -- the political paradise of communism." its not hard to undersatnd

the progressives (aka todays liberals which took over the democratic party) (and through the neo-con are inflintrating the republican side too,) have been in bed with the elite since the late 1880's..

these are the same people that created the fed, the same people that passed the income tax amendment in 1913, the same people that suppored the european socialists and the nasi's, and the fascists

progressives have helped in some areas (child labor laws, etc) but their sole intent is to 'socialize' the united states, to either "nationalize" the entire country and its corporations (main stream socialist way), or to so over regulate the corporations (the fascist way)

progressives (aka liberals) were the ones who supported hitler, progressives are owned by the european banks

This is why the fake liberals of today call themselves "liberal". They hijacked the word after progressive was tainted with Hitler, Eugenics, population control, economic fascism, etc.

hero, we are on the same page. We must re-educate the youth. They see socialism as a good thing, they have no idea why this country has been the envy of all others. We are turning into a militaristic oligarchy. This must be stopped. Extreme times require extreme measures - Ron Paul is our only hope imo.

Apparently, Michelle Obama referred to these words during her Democratic National Convention speech:
"She said, 'Barack stood up that day,' talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, 'and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about 'The world as it is' and 'The world as it should be…' And, 'All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won't do – that we have an obligation to, fight for the world as it should be."
Do you wonder who -- or whose values -- should determine what "the world... should be?"

Oligarchy is gov't by the few, opposed to gov't by the people!
