Why Does Michigan’s Anti-Bullying Bill Protect Religious Tormenters? | Swampland | TIME.com

Apparently it's ok to bully people if there's a religious reason. Are these people setting society back?

I believe religion in general sets back society. These are people no different than those against the civil rights movement in the 60's.

Bullying is a manufactured event brought on by three decades of helicopter parents, incessant coddling, and big government schemes to reward personal irresponsibility. Coupled with the fact that homosexuals constantly and intentionally flaunt their abnormal bedroom behavior and you have a society that is sick and tired of having its religion being challenged in the town square at the behest of a segment of society who believes that male/male sex is somehow normal and natural. Kudos to Michigan Republicans for not caving to the politically correct, morally corrupt Leftists who feel that religion should be checked at the door while your boys play with other boys in the powder room.

So then it's ok for a Muslim to bully a christian as long as there's a sincere belief the christian is an "infidel"?

Strawman argument. Anyone could come up with 1,000 individual scenarios to debate.

It sounds like you support repressing religious speech and belief on the grounds that some gay kid somewhere might get his feelings hurt?

Life isn't fair. Grow up. Grow a pair. Deal with it. All this Coddle-By-Law nonsense has to stop.

Well there you have it. Some will excuse the bully because the bullying fit into their bias.
Excuses for Bullies.
1. He's the star quarterback - he was only joking around didnt mean anything by it.
2. gay people deserve it for being abnormal
3. They weren'y being bullies they were just trying to toughen that kid up.
4.( This one was really used a few years ago by parents from Mt. Pocono ) It was all blown out of proportion and exagerated.( When members of the H.S football team were arrested for sodomizing members of the JV team with pinecones). Several of the kids required medical attention.
Excuses abound when it comes to bullies. The biggest shame is who is making the excuses are the adults.

Only if the Muslim is a registered Republican in Michigan.

Your attitude is disgusting. We're talking about children here not hedonistic gay prostitutes having sex in public. I've yet to meet a gay person that "flaunts their bedroom behavior." Where are you hanging out? Children of any race, religion or sexual orientation have the right to have their learning institutions free of bullying.

Laws do not stop bullying. What's so hard to understand about that? Further, why is it that Leftists feel that everything is solved by codifying it? Why don't you rail against society's role in the prevalence of coddling AND bullying? Why don't we hear the Leftists rail against personal irresponsibility? Why aren't you railing against worthless parents? Are you not capable of raising children that are responsible members of society who don't bully?

The problem is not the LAW. The problem is YOU.

Yes, I support supressing religious speech and belief in government. If we told these religious people to grow up, they would cry religious persecution.
