Its only a flash mob if social media, e-mail, etc. is involved. The term has been used for whites who have assembled and engaged in some organized action.

I don't think it is as cleanly cut down racial lines as you suggest. IMO, "flash mobs" include the trend of using social media (texting/twitter/facebook, etc...) to call together large groups, usually minors or young adults, to a public place, over a relatively short period of time. Most of the time these groups come from out of the immediate area in context to where they have chosen to gather/occupy/make an unruley scene.

actually though if you look even on these boards and most everything that is labeled a flash mob does not follow those characteristics.

supposed flash mobs, are not just people gathering together because of social media, it is using social media for the purpose gathering and creating havoc. If the social media is used just for the purpose of gathering and not creating havoc it isnt a flash mob.

I don't think he worded it correctly

There is a BIG difference between black culture (that of MLK, the old school protesters, the great black entertainers who just wanted a equal chance, all hard working moral black families out there)....

and the "ghetto" culture that is shown by little Wayne and VH1 and the MTV crowd that glorifies thuggery, taking advantage of others, use of the word "*****", inpregnating women as often as possible, welfare, repping "yo hood" and all that uneducated crap.

Big difference between what is glorified and pushed on kids (the ghetto crap) and the reality which is what many blacks WANT to achieve

We, as a society, need to steer the kids away from that ghetto crap the media wants kids to be like and it usually starts with good parenting.

Obviously, the kids in the you tube video were not raised well

That's right..cry RACISM and refuse to acknowledge that there is a growing problem.
Just a handful of kids, just one city, just one incident. Keep telling yourself that over and over and more articles about violent incidents get reported. Just refuse to acknowledge there is any problem whatsoever.

Agreed, this is what I attempted to convey in my post.

You are right and I think his view is completely wrong

Please. This is just "black people are awful" thread #36,968.

Did the OP actually read the article? There were over 200 rioters, not 5-6. That you would even suggest that the rap community does not have a history of attracting violent crime would be completely disingenuous.
Of course it does. Hip Hop culture involves teenagers and college-age adults, and that group has poor impulse control. As for the "200 rioters" thing, sorry, the video's right in the OP, and that's not a riot, that's just some kids fighting.

I'll wait for you to post links of rioters at symphonies, choral ensembles, barbershop quartets, bluegrass concerts, and gospel or American Jazz concerts. The rap community has fostered a culture of violence and misogyny which is completely indefensible.
Yes, things that attract mostly middle-age people rarely involve violence, because middle-aged people generally have much better impulse control than teenagers do. Let's not pretend that we didn't see hundreds of mostly white Penn State students riot because their child-rapist-protecting head coach was fired just a month or two ago. Somehow, nobody leaps from that to the conclusion that "white culture" supports child rape. So why is a few kids acting like fools in a mall proof that "rap culture" or "black culture" are horrible?

Answer: they aren't.

The funny part is, the entire reason why sites like worldstarhiphop hosts videos like these is because people *don't* approve of that sort of behavior - it's the equivalent of slowing down on a highway to stare at a car crash. And there are plenty of seedy websites like that that mostly show white kids acting like fools.
