Nobody said "the whole SPD", at least I didn't. The SPD has a shady history and has been lenient when there are White on Black crimes. It's very possible that the State Attorney was waiting until more evidence was collected. The major problem is that the Sanford PD didn't do its job and botched the investigation. I don't see how anyone can defend them in this case. They didn't test Zimmerman for alcohol or drugs. They ignored witness testimony. Even his "friend" who is defending Zimmerman says he drinks. Was he drunk the night of the shooting? We will never know. Zimmerman is saying Martin went after his gun or grabbed it. Did they process the gun and take fingerprints? Did they check to see if Zimmerman's account made sense by the way the bullet hit Martin? After all, he claims he was on the ground after Martin bashed his head into the sidewalk. He must be an excellent shot to kill someone with the first bullet while suffering from a head wound and lying on the ground screaming for help.

Found out today that Zimmermans Daddy was a former Magestrate Judge in Florida. Wonder if this had anything to do with the quick decision by the DA not to persuit any charges.

To answer the OP, I don't know that it's gotten any worse or not. The media's always been stuck in the 60's mindset while most of us have moved on. It appears that perhaps the victim wasn't such an angel and the shooter wasn't a total evil dude (as if that should make a difference anyway). Fact is, I wasn't there, the media wasn't there. Everyone needs to chill out.

Do you know who Tucker Carlson is, the man who founded "The Daily Caller?"

Also, as I wrote earlier, everyone is trying to make money and get their name on TV. Did you know that the "leader" you're talking about was president of a small chapter in Garland, Texas? You are writing this as if he was the head of the NAACP. He is writing a book and has a film about Black on Black crime which he is promoting.

" Bryant, who explores the topic of black-on-black crime in his new film “Runaway Slave,” said people like Jackson and Sharpton are being misleading to suggest there is an epidemic of “white men killing black young men.”

The entire thing is being manipulated to spark outrage at his murder before the facts are all in.

The thing is, Zimmerman is being targeted regardless if he's guilty or not. Protests are being formed. His (incorrect though) address was posted on Twitter. The whole thing is being used to drum up racial outrage and it's being exploited for political points by politicians all the way up to the White House.

What ever happened to guilty until proven innocent? If Zimmerman is found guilty, of course lock that guy away. But we need to follow the rule of law; instead those shouting the loudest are encouraging mob rule and could incite even more violence.
Its pretty apparent that right/tea party believes any and all bad about Trayvon. The same ones also will believe anything that will allow him to walk free. That is there for all to see and people do see it.

The law does not confer a carte blanche to citizens to shoot people any time they feel threatened. And it's not a license to kill anytime you're in a fight. Sure, you can shoot somebody to end a fight, but that doesn't mean that your use of force is reasonable. If the jury decides that a reasonable person--meaning a person who takes all measures and precautions to preserve human life--would have realized that "pistol whipping" was an option, then they can enter a verdict of "guilty."

It never occur to me that he could have pistol whopped him, I was thinking on the lines of shooting him in a no vital area (arm, leg shoulder) that would have stopped any assailant as well. It just seems to me that he really wanted to kill him, especailly at point blank range

Its not lost. They simply believe Trayvon cant be a victim because hate is very powerful. Obama being elected and now poised to be reelected brought what used to be practiced quietly in all institutions to the surface.

This same people get very angry at the sight of protest except if someone is holding up a picture of Obama as a monkey. Then they are heroes.

No Power=No Justice.

Or he was an idiot. Any fool who is that out of shape who tries to engage an able bodied young man in a foot pursuit probably also has no idea how to handle a handgun properly.

Your rabid hatred for conservatives is blinding you from logic. No matter how many times you repeat a lie, it's still a lie. Yes, there are some racists around, but most people just want to see a trial by jury, not a trial by the media and public opinion who base their verdict on limited information.
