Let me fully explain this figure

47% of American who file tax returns pay zero or less then zero in Fed. Income Tax (IRS Figures)

Of that 47% of filers, about 80% not only pay no income tax, but get money from the fellow citizens (they get all they paid, back, plus add'l).

Some of these filers report income in excess of $50K (US).

The vehicle that results in this travesty is Earned Income Tax Credits.

These figures are released every year in Feb. by the IRS - not a secret, and no long News in Mid April.

Aero, the sheer amount of time you spend posting your hateful rhetoric on this silly, insignificant forum is evidence enough that the rich are taxed too lightly. I can't imagine anyone who worked hard for their (supposed) wealth having as much idle time as you.

So do you favor returning to the 1913 rates?

Do you have a point?

You are aware, I'm sure that Medicare a health insurance policy that in order to get it, you have to pay for it just like any other insurance, except part A which workers paid for during their working years.

Everyone should pay some taxes, even if its a nominal 5% for the very poor. The others should pay a flat rate of about 20-25%.

Sorry, I worked in very poor areas and they ALWAYS had discretionary income.

The liquor stores do quite well selling alcohol and cigarettes.

Yep. Payroll taxes serve a specific purpose. Federal Income taxes do not. One SHOULD be able to expect a service for which they specifically paid. One SHOULD NOT expect a service for which they paid nothing. 47% get something for nothing. That's not "fair."
