As a 17 year old I feel for this girl and her family, and they are all in my prayers, but she shouldn't have done what she and the others did. That being said it was very irresponsible for the other men to shoot. How did they know that there weren't other people around besides the teens? My father is a huge gun advocate, and conceal and carry advocate, but had he been in this situation he would have, at most, shot into the air as a warning. He wouldn't harm another soul unless it was absolutely necessary. That is the attitude all gun owners should have.

She would not have been shot if she would have not been there in the first place. Nobody can predict what a victims actions will be because you don't know what the shooter was thinking or feeling at the time. Personal responsibility.

I see your point; however, the argument is not whether she was at fault. The argument is whether the shooter was also at fault. In most states, you can't protect property using deadly force unless you are in fear of your life, which seems to be the case here. The reason for the laws are because our society does not place property above the value of human life.

How were the men to know? Gee whiz, Golly, Let's think of every excuse possible to not apply the law to the shooters. I mean lets get real it was only one teenager...geez.

I fully support laws that allow people to defend themselves if they are in danger. I don't see what danger this unarmed, fleeing teen posed to the men who shot her.

Had the four lawbreakers been home in bed, the bullet wouldn't have hit her!!
It was a stupid thing to do, but doing stupid things can get you killed...
All four will pay a very heavy price...

gee wiz pad..if the teen hadn't been breaking and entering properties belonging to someone else she wouldn't have been shot and this thread wouldn't exist.

She's a victim of her own bad choices.

Oh well your are on the wrong thread because nobody is disagreeing with you as far as that goes.

Why don't you just come out and admit you like teenagers being killed because they deserve it for breaking into an unoccupied fishing cabin.

American Taliban.

She's a victim of her own bad choices.
