Actually, if you read my cite from a prior post, it is not entirely clear that it actually was his property. Apparently, these three guys got into a boat to investigate what was going on at ANOTHER fishing camp. The girl is responsible for her stupidity, which does not absolve someone else over their stupidity. I just don't have enough facts to go on to say whether he was negligent or not. Firing warning shots into a crowd when there is no risk to the shooter sounds pretty negligent to me though, if that is actually what happened.

That's what one side said. We'll see, as it is interesting how a kid goes from going to the store to attacking some random guy unprovoked given much of the information out there. Then, you apologize. Why would you do that if you were in the right?

Anyway, this is another sad case, but the kids also should have known better too.

Far and away a stupid moron compared to a high school girl out on a juvenile petty crime spree likely instigated by some boys. This could have been anyone's daughter.

In most other kinder nations the only one looking at prison time here would be this moron that decided he was going to be judge, jury, and executioner
What a load of pure horse****. Hope your home is hit next.

It wasn't her property. he would have never shot her if wasn't there breaking the law, he is the victim he gets to live with shooting her.

I am with you. I say if it is a 17 year old out on the street at 4 a.m. go ahead and shoot them before they get a chance to do something bad.

The fact is there is a girl in the hospital who was harmed, yes what she did was stupid, but I don't believe that anyone deserves this if they were running away. She deserves all of our prayers, or good energy vibes, or whatever you believe will help her.
I agree with you.

I guess you missed the part about one of the "innocent" young 17 year olds having a weapon.

So any killing is justified as long as the person that is shot is breaking the law. Wow, I had no idea. Let me go to the interstate and get my sniper rifle and shoot some of them there speeders. Woohooo. Hell, might as well go to wallmart and bring my pistol and see if I can catch some shoplifters and shoot them too. Jump on in boys the water is fine.

Go and do a bit more reading on this. Seems there is now a gun involved.
The charges have been upped to first degree and one of the boy's lawyers is saying that "this child found the gun on the island". There may also be further charges filed but the Asst. DA didn't give further details.

There has been ongoing breakins and vandalism on the island which is only accessible by boat.
