Absolutely not. Obama and the democrats have been reaching out the olive branch since day one, only to have it broken in half and stomped on by the GOP.

It wasn't until the left got their ass handed to them in the 2010 elections that Obama and the Democrats even considered the Republicans, and even then it was only to start pointing the finger at them, trying to blame them for every failed leftist policy the Dems have been pushing on the people since 2006.
doesn't all of this divert from the main point-no matter what, bin laden is now officially most surely dead. (even though we didn't get a body, oddly enough after all that money spent and lives lost).

Of course, had Osama bin Laden not been in Abbotabod that night when the SEALs swept in (which is exactly what more than a few right-wingers wish was the case), the same blowhards who are now wringing their hands in angst over what they claim is the terrible injustice of President Obama having the temerity to talk about it at all would be triumphantly shouting about the failure on a 24/7/365 basis.

ask the average american if the death of bin laden (whenever it was) impacts their own life in any meaningful way. even bin laden said that the murders on 9-11 were a disgrace:

The disastrous Bush tax cuts for the rich were set to expire. Knowing what a disaster it was and trying to get the deficit back in order, Obama presented to restore the tax rates to those making over $250,000 a year, the GOP refused. The democrats countered with a bill that would restore the tax rates to those making $1,000,000 a year or more, the GOP still shot it down, even though over 70% of the american people agreed with the plan.
In the end the GOP held the nation hostage to force through their 858 billion in new spending bill to keep the rich happy.
The nation's credit was to be downgraded unless the nation brought 4 trillion in cuts. Obama brought that to the table, which included big slashes to medicare, social security and other plans the GOP had been calling for. Obama got holy hell from the democrats from it, but said it was absolutely necessary to keep our credit rating, and to pay down the debt. Obama asked the GOP to only pitch in 1 trillion of that. A 75/25 dem to republican split and the GOP still refused!
And because of the GOP's refusal to cut a single penny of their insane spending, the nation's credit was downgraded.
The GOP has made it quite clear they:
Will not compromise no matter what
Their way or no way
Will destroy the country, freedom, and everything else as all that matters is to keep their corporate cronies happy
They do not give a damn what the american people want, only what their masters want.

He can't do that to force stopping spending bills that have already passed (that i'm aware of)
Also the S&P themselves state the reason for the credit downgrade is because the GOP/tea baggers absolute refusal to cut a single penny of their insane spending. Obama had the chainsaw out to bring the massive cuts, the GOP said no way in hell will they stop their spending.
