The media had already decided for the american public that Obama would be the next president and they would go to any extreme to discredit Palin and did so. Would Governor Palin have made a good VP? She like any candidate would have a learning curve. I don't think however her learning curve would have been as large to overcome as has been Mr Obamas.
As for Dick Cheney being a war criminal, he could be, but no-one has yet to prove it. Nothing would make the Obama white house happier than to have Bush and Cheney incarcerated. It would be quite a feather in their cap. Why haven't they? They don't have evidence to prove there were any criminal offenses, otherwise both men would have already been charged.. If you have proof, I suggest you submit it to the Injustice Department to the head criminal, Eric Holder. I am sure he will be thrilled to recieve your evidence against vice president Cheney and former president Bush.

McCain was the token pick, like Dole was in '96. Had McCain been able to take Liberman like he wanted, who knows maybe he could of won.

You could find an argument supporting every President since Hoover as a war criminal. The fact is a head of state has to lose a war and be captured by the enemy before he will be tried as a war criminal. Even in our partisan times a high official will never be tried as a war criminal.

Please explain to me how Governor Palin is a Marxist. As for Katie Couric, I have no use for her. She is a manipulative idiot, and she is in the bag for the current administration.

Dick Cheney says selection of Palin in 2008 was a 'mistake' and suggests Romney should go for experienced running mate

Former vice-president Dick Cheney said Sunday that having Sarah Palin on the 2008 White House ticket was "a mistake", urging this year's Republican candidate Mitt Romney to go for someone more experienced.
As those vying to be chosen as Romney's running mate spent the weekend campaigning around the country, Cheney suggested that main criteria had to be: "Is this person capable of being the president of the United States?"
Palin, who was a first-term governor of Alaska when John McCain picked her to his running mate, fell short on this count, Cheney implied.

Gee, thanks, DICK, without you, DICK, telling us Palin was a mistake no one would've ever known....

And maybe you want to tell the person who picked her, Rovey . And he KNEW it was a mistake , it was meant to be. The Repugs KNEW Obama would win and needed a couple of throw aways.....they got 'em.

Too bad they weren't actually thrown away and have now started to smell.....

"And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. … It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans." Sarah Palin

Palin defending her one major "accomplishment" in her half-term as governor, increasing the fees on oil companies so she could enhance every Alaskan resident's check for just living in Alaska.

It wouldn't have made any difference if McCain had taken someone else. Obama won on the basis of how he responded, PR-wise, to the economic crisis of the summer of '08. Of course his economic policies turned out to be a debacle but nobody really knew that at the time.

Anyway Cheney has no room to talk after the deficit spending of the Bush years. And lastly it's just strange that Cheney even says something like this since it's a meme that has been repeated ad infinitum by about a thousand talking heads. Like Romney needs to hear this advice repeated one more time.

Palin was not a perfect VP pick, but certainly head & shoulders above either of the last two Dem picks.
