Nzrugby, since you probbaly have never lived here, let alone visited here, I'll let you in on a little something. Millions of conservative GOP women in the country would like nothing more than abortion to be 100% banned. Almost all the women in my family think abortion, no matter the circumstance, should be treated as murder. The only women that would care about this would be moderate women who make abortion the centerpiece of their voting conscience.
There are indeed many conservative women who oppose it with their words, but when they need to decide whether or not keep a baby themselves, then the opinions go out the window. Often time the conservative women abort when the pregnancy is a 'surprise', and they abort 90% of the time when they find out the baby has abnormalities like downs syndrome.
To me that is extremely hypocritical. It sure seems they use the freedom to choose when it concerns themselves, but they are willing to deny the choise from others. Now they want the goveenment to decide for all, including them. So be it, but will these conservative women take a little "vacation" when they find out their baby has Downs Syndrome. Time will tell.
Absolutely not. A woman wants to have an abortion will find a way to do it. If it is not legal then she will find an illegal way which could be extremely dangerous to her health. Also who is supposed to take care of all these unwanted babies?

This is exactly what happened in Romania under Nicolae Ceaușescu.
Let's forget about the fact that many of those unwanted children were left in orphans, affected with HIV/AIDS and when they became adults; they overturn the government and executed the officials.
Believe abortion should only be available to rape victims, if the baby would be born with severe birth defects or the mother is in imminent danger of dying from giving birth.

Personally, I would feel more comfortable with requiring a license to have a child. I think the current rule of any idiot can make a child is pretty outdated.
This would require a biological modification to implement, and may not be social acceptable today. . .but it would greatly benefit society.

our op must be todd akin's brother. he obviously does not have a daughter I doubt he would like his child subject to an exam to see if she is virginal when she wanted to travel out of state to see her granny.
third world thinking. women in america will not go back to the 1950's and before when women died from self inflicted and back alley abortions. we will not go back and have a bunch of men politicians tell us what we can do with our lives. nor will we have religion if it is not our own tell us how to live our lives.
women's lives are their business no one else. we can be saints or sl*ts. we can abort for medical reasons or just because we don't think it is the right time for us to be pregnant. you don't like it too bad.
