Based on what he spent before. I am not here to spin numbers about every car under the sun, I am just saying he is saving $350 per month, or $33 600 over eight years. He couldn't care less what the difference is compared to some other car, because he already did that, and bought the Volt, and is very happy with it because his gas bills are practically down to zero. If you prefer a Japanse cars, then buy the Civic. Who cares? I am not planning on buying a Volt either.

As I demonstrated the VOLT is an over priced, under performing piece of Pork legislation that every tax payer is forced to pay for.
Your friend for what ever reason is lacking in common sense or is a liar, it's possible both.
I used the civic because it was easy. I cold have used a cobalt or a cruise as well.
Once again either would be cheaper to own from day 1.

What is amusing is inspite of hard cold facts you prefer here say. That would explain why you are such a die hard Obama supporter. He is another that ignores facts in favor telling lies.

If I were working every day commuting less than 50 miles per day as 70-80% of working people do, I would absolutely buy one.

Nah, I didn't vote for him, - I support Ron Paul. The only cold hard fact is the fact that my friend is saving $350 per month, and you simply can't stand it, because he does is by driving the hated Volt. The rest is nothing but your spin, like using Civic 44 mpg, which is not even true. The Civic city milage is 28, and even the highway milage is not 44.

The civic hybrid is in fact 44. Fact look it up. I based my math on facts.
The second civic I averaged the city against the highway. That is also a fact.
What is not a fact or at least no evidence presented by you thus far is how your friend alleges the $350.00 a month savings.
Fact at double the cost of a civic it would take over 20 years before the cost broke even and that doesnt even factor in the battery change. Nor does it factor in the FACT that battery performance degrades in cold weather and with age. Check on the FACTS.
Yes I hate the VOLT because my tax dollars are wasted on yet another Obama scam.

I support American businesses as much as possible, particularly when American people are in big need of jobs and the only thing that will get companies to hire, is demand for their products, American products.

I don't care if you believe it or not. I am not planning on asking him for receipts, so if you don't want to believe it, then don't.
