If we didn't have government in the health insurance business the world would be totally different. Government mandates in some states add more than 50% to the cost of health insurance.
Yes, like requirements that group policies cover people with pre-existing conditions.
I have a pre-existing condition. Are you suggesting America would be better off if I had no health insurance?
If they care so much then why vote down the only person who has done one damn thing about it in all these years
I call BS
because it is not the goverments responsibility to provide for health care, never has and never should have been. general welfare does not mean nanny from cradle to grave.

Apparently it does mean letting people die like animals in the gutter if they can't afford health care.
My brother in law and his wife do not have health insurance. They both work but neither employer provides health benefits. They also have a toddler who is semi-covered for some issues under a Florida law that I am not familiar with, the parents have zero coverage.
When one of them gets ill, the go to the local ER to get treatment because it is the only place that MUST provide treatment and that will get the bill settled via the state. In other words, when they need health care, it costs me and you at least $2,000, regardless of what they have: A simple thing like the toddler throwing up, for example.
When I have to take my daughter to the doctor, I pay a pre-negotiated insurance rate of $60 for the exact same service my brother in law receives...
I would much rather have my brother in law pay a pre-negotiated rate as well or, if he is unable to pay, have you and me be out of $60 and not $2,000.

look, I do not mind goverment providing health care to those that NEED it, but the vast majority of americans do not need goverment health care. get goverment out of the health care scam, and the prices of such care shall go down.
also limit wrongful suits against the doctors to those paitents that are actually hurt, and dont let people sue doctors just because they were too stupid to follow the doctors advice.
Just like romney its what ever the moment provides
