Nope. Merely my way of predicting that because the country had changed so much, I predict that should it come before the court again, the decision will be different. Just like censorship, when TV was first invented, it was a different time, and people accepted censorship of the medium. Contrast that with the Internet age, and you'll note neither the people nor the courts have the stomach for it. Same principal.

I doubt they will. I entered a comment early this morning (no inappropriate language or content) about the Portland Maine ordinance that forbids the placing of anything anywhere on public property without a duly obtained permit. I was asking if in fact these signs we lawfully placed since in the article the author claims these "vandals" violated state law that forbids messing with lawfully placed political signs (nothing seems to prohibit one from messing with unlawfully places signs - as I greatly suspect these signs were).

They seem to have decided not to approve or publish my comment (several other comments have been approved and posted since I submitted mine). I find it the height of irony they'd stifle my speech in an article complaining about the stifling of their speech.

Just watch it. Its so obviously phony its laughable. And if you don't see it in that one, go back to their site and watch the one where they're standing on a street corner with a giant banner. Watch as the camera turns and follows a guy coming across the street and heads right towards the banner, and then he tears it down! Watch how they stand there and get the pictures and videos, as per their script.

And don't call me a liberal. I'm not one.
I just watched the banner video you were talking about. I'd bet every penny to my name that that video was staged (and poorly - some pretty bad acting in there).

You've read my mind - I was just checking their site to see if my comment had been posted yet. It hadn't, but there were six others posted since I made mine, hmmmmmm. Very peculiar!

I agree.

True courage of your convictions means you are willing to pay the price.

A night or two in jail is nothing in the scheme of things, BTW. In just the last 100 years in our country Americans have gone to prison, gotten bashed in the head, been lynched, gotten sprayed with tear gas, been knocked off their feet with a fire hose, and had riot dogs set upon them for standing up for what they believe in. Thank God. Two nights in jail is nothing compared to what people have done to right wrongs in this country.

Why not? Deceit, trickery, deception, distortion, and just outright lying (usually while demonizing (sometimes literally) a group of people) is standard operating procedure for the religious right. They're dead wrong on the issues and facts, so it's all they've really got.

Precisely. There's no reason to stage anything. Look, we even have posters in this thread approving of the deed.

It's shocking for civilized people, left and right, but for SSM activists it's just business as usual. I live in California. Proposition 8 wasn't that long ago.

Marriage is defined - it is the union between a man and a woman.

There is no valid reason to redefine it.
So if you're married and your marriage is so weak that it can't survive legalization of same sex marriage, then your own marriage is very weak and the real problem.
