No the POTUS was in charge. He said so himself and I agree. TOP down. This wasn't a bottom feeder mistake. This wasn't a mistake where the wrong muffins were ordered. From the top down lies were told and the public misled. Petraeus owns a share, but his boss owns it all.

NO Petraeus did it to himself. He is in a very public position and he let his Johnson do his thinking for him. He humiliated his family. She was just the tool he used to do it.
He should step down because if he can't control his hormones he has no business being in the job. His desire for some strange compromised his security, in other words our security.

Why? Because he violated several different directives which he issued while on active duty. He also has the smarts, and the class, to recognize that this cripples his credibility. Unlike another former leader who outright lied, both under oath and to the American people, about his affair.

Kennedy did a lot worse with his affair (dead girl) and he didn't resign.

But if no one talks then you have nothing. You have no trail "to the top".

Yeah. Didn't seem to hurt him in the least.

One possibility...

I actually believe he's a very honorable man with regards to the military. A lifetime career, distinguished one. I suspect that he could not, would not lie under oath. Especially with the deaths of four Americans under his watch. Now, you can make the arguement that any man that would forgo the vows of marriage would have no problem lying under oath. Possibly. But hard core military can be a different breed.

And here's where I'll get called a tin-foil hat wearer..

As head of the CIA, of course he would HAVE to testify. Suppose his testimony would be so damning to those above him, and they know that under oath, he'll tell the truth about what happened, they simply make sure he doesn't testify. He supplied the ammo with the affair. They found it, fired it..he resigns, no testimony.

Just a thought.

absolutely, yes, he should not have surcummed to temptation, however, they were both wrong....both of them were equally wrong, and that has nothing to do with his perfomance on the job.....

and she, with no remorse what so ever, sit on national TV, and laughs and brags about it??? What kind of woman is she, why did she do it, to see if she could, without any concern for his family, kids, etc.
I really dislike women or men like that...

or did she do it to boost her career, or, is this a lie, b/c he retired b/c of what Obama did, remember, he threw Hillary under the bus, didn't he?

He lied to the American Public about Bengazi, and without a blink of an eye, telling us all that it was all about protestors, well, protestors do not shoot rocket launchers, and this was about the lives lost of those men??????

I'll say it again, both sides of our politicians are extremely corrupt. and Why, b/c we didn't have the money to station men over there???????

There is more to this Petraeus story then what meets the eye....same way they made Powelll the scape goat for not finding Weapons of Mass Distruction.....

He resigned out of his own free will, so it was a choice he made. Some others might have chosen to stay out, but he decided it was time to go.
