Well heck, it was OK for a President to be too weak, yet it's suddenly not OK for a head of the CIA?
This story still doesn't quite add up.
Many presidents and generals in United States history have had affairs, and this woman was not his intern, not his secretary or any other employee of the US government.
Feinstein said she respects Obama’s decision to accept the Petraeus resignation, but wishes he hadn't.
She also said Petraeus will not need to testify at hearings she is chairing next week into the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the attack.
How did he go from schedued to testifying but now he "will not need to"?
This should have no effect on that at all.
Many here said this is unrelated so there is no reason for such a change.
I ask why?
One has no bearing on the other.
Well he's been excused from the SIC, but what about HIC?
Quote:
The Senate Intelligence Committee will conduct a closed-door hearing on November 15. Scheduled witnesses include Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director David Petraeus, Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy, FBI Deputy Director Sean Joyce and National Counterterrorism Center Director Matt Olsen.
Clapper, Petraeus and Olsen will also testify behind closed doors to the House Intelligence Committee on the same day
Once again we have an opinion based on FALSE INFORMATION.
David Petraeus is a RETIRED military officer.
Not only that but no one can me "compelled" to testify. They can be compelled to appear (with some limitations) but that doesn't mean that they are compeled to speak.
How did he go from schedued to testifying but now he "will not need to"?
This should have no effect on that at all.
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) on Friday vowed to subpoena outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus if he won’t testify voluntarily about the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
Gowdy said that while he regretted the “personal ramifications” of Petraeus’ sudden resignation over an extramarital affair, it would not stop Congress from hearing from him about the assault on the consulate that left four Americans dead.
