Interesting read at Nate Silver's blog today.

In Silicon Valley, Technology Talent Gap Threatens G.O.P. Campaigns - NYTimes.com

Quote:
Among employees who work for Google, Mr. Obama raised about $720,000 in itemized contributions this year, against only $25,000 for Mr. Romney. That means that Mr. Obama took almost 97 percent of the money between the two major candidates.

Apple employees gave 91 percent of their dollars to Mr. Obama. At eBay, Mr. Obama took 89 percent of the money from employees.

[...]

If Democrats have the support of 80 percent or 90 percent of the best and brightest minds in the information technology field, then it shouldn’t be surprising that Mr. Obama’s information technology infrastructure was viewed as state-of-the-art exemplary, whereas everyone from Republican volunteers to Silicon Valley journalists have critiqued Mr. Romney’s systems. Mr. Romney’s get-out-the-vote application, Project Orca, is widely viewed as having failed on Election Day, perhaps contributing to a disappointing Republican turnout.
Food for thought for you righties who continue to believe that only unemployed Obamaphone-receiving welfare mommas supported Obama.

Are you bitter that you couldn't get into college?

Or do you consider your degree meaningless since you were taught by a bunch of fakes?

So you're saying that all those software engineers pulling down six-figure salaries at Apple and Google are actually stupid?

OK then.

Your problems here are:

-You think that you have stumbled upon all of the right answers and can't imagine having been brainwashed yourself.
-Being a college professor isn't a real job.

I think pne had sto relaise that any centralist governemnt favros a elite and a other class. I don't however see them being so smart especially has far has numbers being the smartest in the room.A example is all the governamnt people even tresury could not untangle the mortgage market with out wall street. As one said when Jamie Diaman was proposed to head treasury;why would he want to go work with the mediocity in government officals compared to what he works owal street. The smartest people in the room is not just a saying is the truth.look at all the top offical they all come from private sector for a reason.

Why do so many smart, rich people support the Democrats?

Maybe some rich people support the Democrats, but I don't think the smart people do.

Just like every other reason someone supports an action or regulation. It won't affect them and the people who they compete against it might. It's crony capitalism in its worst form and it allows people who pay tons of money to accountants to skirt taxes while those they have to compete against can't afford floors and floors of accountants at their headquarters.

You know, it's like "stimulus" when you know you'll be the primary recipient of stimulus funds and your competition -- whether you disagree with them politically, in the case of Obama's stimulus, or you disagree with them being able to compete against you because they've become a global conglomerate that can't compete with nimble newcomers -- won't.

I suspect many of the rich are those people who live in Hollywood and are totally uneducated except for going to some acting school. Uneducated rich people, the black population that possibly is mostly uneducated in real world affairs, and the union members are who got Obama elected. People who are on the 'government take' (includes not only welfare recipients but government employees also) are not going to vote for someone who wants them to actually work for the wages they get. Government workers do not produce anything, no product of any kind, they are no more than a drain on the taxpayers. As for the black population, the black man in this video clip says it all: http://www.youtube.com/v/F0sk4yGaEk8&hl=en_US&fs=1&

A horrible case of white guilt. Voting for Democrats is like paying an indulgence for those afflicted with white guilt.
