You do realize that your more in danger on being mugged, murdered and your kids killed in your own home than being the victim of a public shooting.

I understand your emotions but deal with the realm of real possibilies rather than your projection of a worse case senario.
When I was in high school not to many years ago it wasn't uncommon to see guns in gun racks in the school parking lot. This was in a city on 200,000 at the time in California of all places.
I'm afraid if the gun lovers keep up this idiocy - they WILL try and take their guns; instead of the modest proposal that the President has put forth with little chance of making it through Congress.
I feel more comfortable carrying concealed even though I live in a State (Nebraska) that allows open carry. My only concern with either concealed or open carry is making sure that the weapon is carried in a safe manner. IF you can afford the weapon you should be able to buy a holster or sling that allows for safe carrying.
