Read the rest of the quote - "Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense." Paul's right on that one.

I don't think Paul's comments were specific to Iraq but Kyle's role as a sniper and soldier and his choice of therapy for PTSD (gun range??).

I'd like to hear what Ron said in his own words and in context. But if it is portraid accurately, I have lost what respect I had left for the man.

Great. When are they going to disband the military so our service personel can stay home with their families and not put themselves in harms way for a government that does not seem to appreciate them?

The only duty of soldiers and sailors is to defend the constitution against enemies foreign and domestic...

Romping around 3rd world middle eastern countries doesn't fall under duty.

Especially if the cause is unjust as there is no honor in fighting for unjust causes...

When is serving in an unjust cause a "duty"?

Kyle was trained to be a sniper. So I don't blame him for that part. He wasn't over there killing people just because he wanted to. The gun range for PTSD doesn't make any sense and in this case that is obvious in retrospect. However, those guys are a different breed. It may make sense to them to use shooting for therapy. It makes no sense to me though.

I have to say, the idiot was the guy that thought putting a gun in the hand of a known mental case, was going to cure him.

Ron Paul saw it like it was.
The man was a hero trying to help.
His methods were irresponsible and unfortunately he paid the price for messing with the rattle snake.

He died for American freedoms, and Paul denigrates his sacrifice. What a monster who doesn't really care about those who are willing to pay the ultimate price to protect the freedoms he likes to rant about. Paul has never even tried to do the same.
