Using deadly force is justified if you think your life is in danger, not your property.

This homeowner had no reason to think that, given that he saw no evidence of the perpetrator being armed.

Well, the lesson IS a more permanent lesson than others, but it is a lesson. The 17 year old has learned from the lesson. And while I would like to have never seen something like this happen in the FIRST place, the fact remains, the issue took place.

These 2 kids CHOSE to rob someone. If not for their choice in recreation, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

In my day as a kid, my parents were held responsible for my actions.
But my dad was also military. If I tarnished his record there would be a high price to pay.

File this under: Good shooting! Too bad he didn't pop the 17 year old while he was at it.
You'll enjoy this clip then:

Tales from Detroit: "This is Detroit and We will come Squat in Your House if You're Not Home" - YouTube

Neighbor: This is Detroit and we will come squat in your house - Fox 2 News Headlines

I spoke with the sister of the one of the men who was hanging out at the house. She says it was not his fault.

Curtrina: "Somebody was squatting in that house, the guy that was in there was squatting already, so he was inviting people over, because he was living there."

RJ,a relative, offers this: "If you a home owner or renting a property or whatever. You don't leave your home for 3 or 4 months."

The women tells Fox 2 she was there last Tuesday and everything was intact.

Quote:
RJ: "It's Detroit, Michigan... this is the hungry capital of the world and we will squat in your house."

Curtrina: "It was like a chill spot."

Wait, wait, wait...What?

Curtrina: "It was like a chill spot. Somebody going to invite you over to smoke some weed and we right next door."

I don't know what you think about this situation, but the people we interviewed implied that they think the homeowner is to blame, that she should know better than to leave her house for too long.

RJ: "Stay on your property before your copper come up missing."

RJ told me that he would never do that, but other people would. Two men were placed under arrest the night the homeowner came home. One man ran away.
A glimpse of what lies ahead when civilization breaks down.

The homeowner need only BELIEVE that his is life is in imminent danger. This is a burden of proof that NO prosecutor on the planet can meet.

Chalk it up to multiculturism nowadays the name spelled the same way as the dead kid usually means Black.

If you are a stranger in my house and uninvited you are a threat.
