An instant death sentence with no appeal, is what you call teaching a lesson?
Well, the lesson IS a more permanent lesson than others, but it is a lesson. The 17 year old has learned from the lesson. And while I would like to have never seen something like this happen in the FIRST place, the fact remains, the issue took place.
These 2 kids CHOSE to rob someone. If not for their choice in recreation, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
You could charge the parents for raising a menace to society. Breaking into someones home to rob them or even just to steal is putting your life in jeopardy. Kids and adults have to learn that.
In my day as a kid, my parents were held responsible for my actions.
But my dad was also military. If I tarnished his record there would be a high price to pay.

I went to high school with dozens of boys with the same anme and they were of Greek heritage.
Their families all belonged to the local Greek Orthadox Church, St. Demetrious.
I spoke with the sister of the one of the men who was hanging out at the house. She says it was not his fault.
Curtrina: "Somebody was squatting in that house, the guy that was in there was squatting already, so he was inviting people over, because he was living there."
RJ,a relative, offers this: "If you a home owner or renting a property or whatever. You don't leave your home for 3 or 4 months."
The women tells Fox 2 she was there last Tuesday and everything was intact.

I don't know what you think about this situation, but the people we interviewed implied that they think the homeowner is to blame, that she should know better than to leave her house for too long.
RJ: "Stay on your property before your copper come up missing."
RJ told me that he would never do that, but other people would. Two men were placed under arrest the night the homeowner came home. One man ran away.

Chalk it up to multiculturism nowadays the name spelled the same way as the dead kid usually means Black.
