And that's why I admire her. I have to admit - I wasn't paying much attention to politics when she was in power but any woman that rises to the level she did, playing a man's game; I have to give some props to.

Despite being a liberal, I never really had anything against Reagan (he was not worse than other US presidents), nor did I ever like the Soviet Union. Still, the demise of the latter was indeed largely the result of internal changes and events. I guess if we have to thank anyone for the end of the SU, it is Gorbachev, even though he probably did not plan at all what was to happen He started something that quickly became so big he couldn't stop it anymore, even if he had wanted to...

I agree. If someone (not just her, anyone) was a jerk while they were alive, their death doesn't change that fact one iota. It amazes me that people do this - and not just with public figures - with people they knew.
