Just as that "great" JC Penny campaign, which attempted to "recruit" gay buyers, pro sports "coming out" with gay players will alienate many "customers" and will adversely affect thier business. Ask the recently fired CEO of Penny's and consider that only 10% of the population is gay. I wonder what percentage of gay citizens are avid NFL fans?

After all, pro sports is a business, not a political organization. Thier objective is to make money. Such a measure will cost them tons of money and would be a terrible business move.

Any NFL team that kicked openly gay players off thier roster would suddenly be the most popular franchise in the NFL.
No, it wouldn't.

I agree with InsaneTraveler here. No it wouldn't.

Can you prove this? Cite your sources.

You're right! The evil gays with their nasty agenda! Ooooo-eeeeeee-oooooo...

They won't be happy until they are forcing heterosexual couples to divorce and marry members of theie own sex!

What a load of baseless malarkey.

And your "no matter how we try to accomodate them..." line. Pfft. Why don't you ease off the paranoiac nonsense and go ahead and endorse equal rights for starters.

I'd bet against you, and I'd win.

The majority of people in this country aren't as backwards and bigoted as this. Not even football fans.

It's just the shrill, whiny, vocal few that shout so loudly people think this nation is far more neoconservative and rightwing than it really is.

People who are out of touch and prefer looking backwards will buy into it and gripe some more on internet forums, but the rest of us will just grow up and move on...

I honestly don't give a flying turd. Anyone who writes this up as "The Gay Agenda" and is that concerned about it seriously needs to get a life.

I'm just sick and tired of the whole "look at me, I'm gay" coming out parties, I don't freaking care who or what these people have sex with, or if they are virgins for life. Keep your bedroom activities private.

What if the gay athletes who come out are virgins? Is that still airing their "bedroom activities"?

When a straight athlete mentions his wife in an interview or shows up with his wife to a team social function, is he broadcasting his "bedroom activities"?

The problem really is that those genetically inferior hicks don't want to know what goes on in other people's bedroom. They are not the one's deciding to let the whole know what is going on in the other people's bedrooms, the other people are.

A player or small group of players announcing they are gay does not constitute an agenda or circus side show. Most mature people know there are gays in sports. The agenda until just recently has been one of hostility or at best indifference. This "gay agenda talk" is exaggeration by those that are not tolerant.
