I could see that.

Racial/social/political problems in New Orleans?

Nah, no history of that there.

I live in the city of Chicago, so the basement windows are all along the city streets. He is 7.

Thing is if this guy did fire a warning shot the cops would have arrested him for that most likely no matter what Joe Biden said. Kid was breaking into private property. He got shot. That is a chance you take. He's lucky he hadn't been shot prior based on the history of this punk. Maybe he should have got one of those apps that the loons put out showing homes that have registered firearms and picked a better victim? I'm sure all the gun hating liberals would welcome somebody breaking into their homes based on the responses to this thread.

A nonviolent burglar how quaint. Now the inevitable comparisons to Trayvon. Ironically enough when Zimmerman forst called 911 he observed Trayvon looking into homes just like this little thief.

See if he did racially profile maybe the kid wouldn't be on life support. Profile people.

Unarmed teen shot inside homeowner's fenced yard, but not breaking into home, NOPD warrant says | NOLA.com
My guess is this guy, like Zimmerman, will be acquitted. I tell you what is disturbing--the way some people keep throwing up cases like this, as if they somehow justify the verdict in the Martin case. They don't. They are completely unrelated cases.

I am on the side of the kid... Yes, he is a thief but i think the homeowner should try something other than lethal force as the FIRST action... If the kid charged at the homeowner or attacked then I would side with the homeowner but that did not happen... I still think Zimmerman is not guilty... He was attacked first, end of story...

Law is the law and the homeowner is going to jail most likely. It is BS that you have to wait until your attacked before responding to someone breaking into your property but we see it all the time in this crazy society anymore.

Right, we go for walks together. It's very common in Chicago to browse the streets. So my child runs ahead on his scooter and stop when he see something he thinks is interesting, like spider webs, he stops and look. Sometimes they are at knee level right next to a window.
Anyways, I told him to knock it off. Even if the street is public property.
