House Speaker John Boehner on Tuesday said he supports President Obama's call for a military strike on Syria, giving the plan a weighty endorsement ahead of a key hearing on Capitol Hill.
Boehner, emerging from a White House meeting with several other top-ranking lawmakers, said the chemical weapons attack last month "has to be responded to."
"I'm going to support the president's call for action," Boehner said

I hope Congress votes no. They are supposed to represent us, so hopefully we have been pestering them to vote no.
I'm not too sure Congressmen/persons need to worry about being re-elected. To most people domestic agenda is more important than the foreign agenda. Actually I would bet that 90% of the public doesn't even know that we're even considering bombing Syria or even know that Syria's a country.
It's hard not to laugh after reading this thread--once Pelosi and Boehner spent the weekend going over the same intelligence that the president had, they're both on board. Boehner will line up the non-teavangelical members of Congress, and he'll have enough votes, combined with the Dem's to pass this. In the meantime, you've all been ranting and foaming at the mouth for the last week that Obama is a liar, and that we shouldn't back him just because he's Obama. How'd that work for you?
It's nice, for once, to see the leadership of both parties trying to work together for the good of the country and the world. It's pretty much a first, at least for the last 6 years.
I like that. It's Congress fault if they vote no, forcing Obama to do the humanitarian thing and shoot the missles. It's Congress fault if they vote yes, forcing Obama to shoot the missles. This guy is a weasel.
Congress has been b*tching this entire time DEMANDING that he consult them. When he finally DOES, he's a weasel. Go figure.

How is us attacking Syria good for the country? Is our military a defense force or an offense force? What are we defending ourselves against here?

I wonder what sort of campaign contribution Boehner just got.....or what sort of concession Obama is going to give him on another topic down the road....but thats just the cynic in me talking.
I voted close no. It now appears that I was way off the mark. This will be an easy yes after all. Bombs away!
