Not to mention the attack dogs at the IRS doing the administration's bidding.

Did you just try to intimate that the people who took the surveys noted in the post above yours are not Americans?

Really?

Congress is not using that same process; if they were, they could simply pass a repeal bill and win support through the House AND Senate. Congress is simply delaying funding to threaten recession of the majority doesn't give in to their demands. The obstructionists, that want to protect ObamaCare at all costs, won't even bring it to a vote in the Senate.

Bottom line is that there are at least half a dozen polls that say Americans HATE the GOP strategy and that support for the tea party is at an all-time low of just 22%. So don't say you guys have the will of the people... you don't.
And polls clearly say that Americans HATE ObamaCare. So don't say it has the support of the people...it doesn't.

Boehner and his buddies have not mustered the electoral support to pass anything through the legislative process. They are a minority and are using threats against our livelihoods to try to dictate what they want.

And we know that most Americans strongly disapprove of what they are doing, even more than they disapprove of Obama and the Democrats, so they are clearly not interested in representing the "will of the people."

So who's the one trying to be the dictator: the one who went through the Constitutional process and achieve a valid result, or the one unilaterally demanding that the majority do certain things under the threat of national economic recession?
Let's start out with the fact that the ACA was not passed legally as the House sent a Veterans Benefit bill to the Senate which the Senate then dismantled and turned into the ACA bill which they passed. I have more respect for the Republicans standing up for the people that did not want any part of this legislation to begin with than I do for my own party.

Also, since this bill was already signed in to law in 2009, THREE years before the presidential election, I am having a hard time understanding why Americans who don't want OBAMAcare would re-elect OBAMA.

.
1. it was passed in 2010
2. it was passed by only dumbocrats, and they even stated "pass it to see whats in it"
3. what does the re-election of the potus have to do with it...all bills are passed/failed in congress
4. even in the most recent election, the PEOPLES HOUSE (which is COMPLETELY elected(100%) every two years) was elected to a republican majority, the PEOPLE stated they don't want Obama care, and its a bad law

The only branch with the power to shut down the federal government is the executive..ie.the POTUS. Cangress can not agree on a budget but not put on the brakes and bring the entire thing to a halt.

People should refer to the Constitution before typing stupidity on the interweb.

Also, if people annointed the conservative nutjobs in the House to crash the economy unless they got their way, then how come most people HATE them - even more than they hate Obama and the Democrats?

Clearly, what you're saying is rubbish as it does not square with reality.

Tea Party Support Dwindles to Near-Record Low

Why the shutdown looks so bad for the GOP - CBS News

Again, your looking at liberal polls and liberal news stations. McCain has already lost his seat come the next election as he can't decides where he stands on anything.

The Supreme Court ( Chief Roberts ) rewrote the legal definition of penalty and called it a tax. But now since the "tax" did not originate in the house - it will eventually be found unconstitutional. The only "nutjob" is in the WH, who thinks that he can change constitutional law by waiver certain groups and employing provisions that don't benefit people but for which the are charged aka the pregnancy coverage which every woman from 18 to 81 yrs old pay for.

Congress isn't shutting down anything. But as the branch that holds the pursestrings (which was created as a checks and balance measure) they can stop funding.

This is just the latest greatest dumbest tantrum held by the Tea Party fringe.

Although we have the lowest tax rates since the 1950s, and we've been dealing with a massive recession and millions of people in need of assistance, a pending tsunami of boomer retirements and Medicare costs, wrapping up two wars, etc., they will fight like hell to keep revenue off the table, cry incoherently about socialism, and have been working deliberately to dissemble the government (i.e., kick decent people out of work) even when unemployment was nearly 10% all against the will of the majority of the people in this country. They have no interest in collaborative governance or national service. It is their approach or burn down the house. Like the Taliban, except their Sharia law was written by Grover Norquist and Co. I can't figure out whether guys like Ted Cruz are crazed fundamentalist zealots or soulless corporate prostitutes, or worse, some repulsive combination of the two.
