I'm not the one complaining about not making any money after working at MC.D for 10 years. And if she had any drive at all she would be a manager at least. If anything, go work for another retail chain that pays better. After 10 years of no raises she only has herself to blame for still being there.
Chim,
Do you think she has any responsibility at all for her situation?

It take more than drive to be a manager. It's a whole different skill set to achieve goals via other people.
The best doer is not necessarily the best manager and vice-versa.
Assuming she receives TANF benefits, she is eligible for her GED if necessary and job training. That requires drive and discipline.
there you go name calling again- please stop thinking so highly of yourself and some of you super nasty. You don't know her story, but she is working.
Cannot imagine why anyone would put down a burger flipper/cashier. It takes more skills than the typical manufacturing job that once paid a livable wage- before global competition and technology.
That's she has managed to stay employed for ten years is an accomplishment.
Here's to hoping that one day she will realize that she is the only one holding herself back. Education is her only way out. Community colleges have all sorts of certificate programs.
Sorry, low skill fast food worker is not the ticket to raising a family.
I hope she's putting solid efforts in forcing the father(s) of her kids to live up to their responsibilities as opposed to haranguing a McD executive who has nothing to do with the decisions she made.
Assuming she is on TANF, the state will go after him.
Why should one worker think she can cause a disturbance at a meeting, or speaking engagement and get away with it? If she sin't satisfied with $8.25 an hour she can quit. She also has the option of doubling her pay by working a second shift, after all there are 24 hours in a day. The decisions she made early in her life are her fault, not someone elses. She is probably being paid what she is worth.
Most McDonalds historically hire only part time employees because they want maximum scheduling flexibility and to avoid OT. The thing about part time work in retail and food services is that days and working hours can and do change week to week. This makes it very challenging to string together multiple part time jobs.
The market determines the value of a job , not the person.
Why should she even be ticketed? If someone interrupts me while I'm speaking, I don't get to call the cops and have them sanctioned.
It seems the cops jump right to it when someone wearing an expensive suit, possessing a fancy title, and earning seven figures makes a petty complaint. Try getting the cops to do anything substantive for the average person, though.
This kind of thing is bullsh*t (and that's coming from a conservative).
She trespassed on the private property of the Union League Club, in Chicago.
The club used to be a men's only club. She never would have made it pass the door man, back then.
You have no evidence that because someone works a job like these they have no ambition. If you really think that if someone wants to succeed they will just do it then you are ignorant and not in reality. Maybe there were better opportunities but with here skill set it is not like it would be much better. She may be payed a little more but it would not make a huge difference. To really jump in pay you need to have some kind of college. I guess if you keep repeating the same crap to yourself you will believe it.
Oh I think 10 years of failure to move forward is quite enough evidence. Or did you miss that part?
The market determines the value of a job , not the person.
But the person determines their own value in the market, building and enhancing as needed to remain marketable. Slugs have little value, and with nothing to make themselves special, remain slugs for life.
