That point of the executive order so their isnt discrimination to any Lesbian, Gay or Trasgender state employees.
Everyone should have freedom to be themselves without being harrassed, bullied or fired for who they are.
By issuing the EO, the governor is making an attempt to ensure that discrimination doesn't occur on the state level, and if it does, people will be taken to task for doing so. This is a step in the correct direction given what the previous governor did or tried to do.
The new governor is reinforcing what federal laws are on the books now.
Wonder when the last time an employer fired anyone because of said race religion creed sx orientation? As stated earlier, the joke is on the protected class low info voter "Vote for me, I'm your hero" feel good crap eaters.
Unfortunately, it happens more often than it should. I shared some of those earlier in this thread, feel free to look back or use a search engine.
No one should be fired because of their sexual orientation. Why is equality such an issue for everyone to be treated the same.

But to me, I go on what the federal government law states about discrimination, the states you list above have opened themselves up to federal discrimination lawsuits, which probably, possibly have been filed in those states listed. It is my opinion that those states need to get the fannies in line with federal requirements.

I wished what you state is true but unfortunately sexual orientation is not protected.
Massachusetts became the second state to pass a statute banning discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in 1989, and is now one of 22 states that offer that kind of protection.
It is also one of 17 that explicitly bans discrimination based on gender identity.
Basically the states where marriage equality exist may have protection.
Good news now there finally protection nationally. ENDA has passed .
Many thanks goes to the eight republicans who believe all americans should be treated equal.
Here list of how each voted.

Governor-Elect Terry McAuliffe has declared a new day for LGBT equality in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Inclusion and equality won in yesterday’s election, while the politics of hate and discrimination were soundly defeated.
I think so. I guess we know what this OP is though, don't we?
