U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote
It passed the senate, but Bohner said that he wouldn't allow it to come up for vote in the house.

There are already laws on the books banning discrimination against LGBT employees. Totally waste of time, but I hope everybody feels warm and fuzzy now.

None at the federal level that cover sexual orientation.

Yay! Thank you for posting that!

I'm happy to see that my senators (Cantwell and Murray) were on the side of fairness and equality - again.

Scoundrel for wanting to protect other people's rights? I'm supposing you'd repeal the civil rights act too?

There isn't a federal level law that says your job can't discriminate against LGBT people. If you work in a state that doesn't have this protection on the state level (outside of Federal jobs, which have this protection anywhere) then your boss can fire you that right now. It's easy to have a 'meh' attitude about something if it's not discriminating against you, but I would hope that any grown person would feel it necessary.
