What I cant understand is why Military/Defense spending is called "discretionary". By definintion money used after everything else is paid off?
No one really knows the exact amount, not even the DOD/Pentagon knows and there are some "black budgets" too.
Maddow is right though.
Its directly against what is being said, your first graph shows all spending and only 30% of the total is only discretionary spending, so yes, 57% of discretionary spending is military, but NOT of the entire budget...which is what is trying to be portrayed here and is pure BS...
