Of course you think it sounds like that. It is congenial to your prejudice.

Testifying before Congress isnt a civil action either.. Do you even know what the hell you are talking about?

The confidence with which the IRS execs teased the congress clearly demonstrates they know full well they have the highest level of protection and are untouchable. If this was to crack open, Obama would be ridden out of town on a rail along with his henchmen....this is life or death for the socialist movement..they won't go down easily.

So, she should answer "Captain Kangaroo" Issa's questions? Why would that be?

What prejudice? Stating a FACT that immunity isnt needed unless there are criminal acts? I'm sorry facts are so hard for you to swallow...

I didnt see their name anywhere until you brought it up.

Trolling is a tos violation.. Are you going to discuss the thread, or can we expect you to just try to change the subject like a typical government paid poster does?

And yet, taking the 5th in front of hostile congressional hearings is a tradition more than 200 years old, as is Congress offering immunity to get around it. Are we all to suddenly fall on our knees in front of your brilliant (if idiosyncratic) legal reasoning and pretend that, were you to actually have a point, no member of Congress, no Constitutional lawyer, no judge or justice at any level of the judiciary ever noticed?

My god man, but if you are not the poster boy for the Dunning-Kruger effect I don't know who is.

How would I know if she needs it at all?

As far as I can tell Issa is the only one who needs it. Without it, she's not testifying.

This is not rocket science.

What is a joke is when some politician want to change the PURPOSE of a hearing into a political speech.

The PURPOSE of this hearing was to ASK HER QUESTIONS. Nothing more, nothing less.

Issa asked question and she plead the 5th, which she is entitled to do.

Issa turned the mike over to the dem minority leader and asked him if HE wanted to ASK HER ANY QUESTIONS?

INSTEAD OF ASKING ANY QUESTION HE STARTED OUT MAKING A POLITICAL SPEECH.

When she made it clear that she was NOT going to answer ANY questions there was NO reason to continue the hearing.

Cummings WASN'T going to ask any questions so the purpose of the hearing was impossible to achieve so Isaa closed the hearing and released Lerner instead of wasting everybody's time listening to speeches.

My question is, why did Issa have Lerner come before them again while he rehashed the same unsubstantiated theories was this supposed to be a press conference. This waste of taxpayer money unless they have something more to offer, why did we need to hear Issa's opinion yet again.

Pretty heated with Cumming and Issa with Issa shutting off his Mic.

So now Boehner and Issa are going to hold her in attempt, what's stopping them.
