The left despises the middle class, as they are an impediment to the rise of socialism. It is not surprising that most leftist policy is directed toward destroying the middle class.
1. higher taxes
2. more regulations, driving up costs of energy and driving away business
3. more illegals to drive down wages
4. NAFTA and China trade policies
5. opposing vouchers
6. opposing domestic oil and coal production- more jobs and lower energy costs
7. Obamacare- driving up healthcare costs for the middle class

Not even the most vapid right-wing rags are claiming that people will "freeze to death". But heck, thanks for demonstrating what I speculated earlier...There is apparently no depths some will go to to oppose a compromise that benefits people they hate more than they believe it benefits themselves and their descendants.
I doubt they're thinking it through that far. The right-wing approach to these issues is to insulate themselves from truth that despoils their desire to act on their preference for callous disregard for others and the promise of their own self-gratification.

Gas is dirt cheap under Obama. Oil and gas production is at historic levels under Obama. The entire premise of this relies on the fact the regulations will go into full effect several decades from now.... just another instance of folks getting their panties in a wad over nothing.

1. Deportations: The lie about "record deportations" has been soundly refuted and is only believed by blind partisan liberals. Deportations have dropped 40% under Obama.
2. Oil production: Oil production has increased INSPITE OF OBAMA. The increase in energy production has occurred on private lands, not federal lands, as Obama opposes energy development.

Since natural gas prices are lower now than they have been a decade ago, I doubt a 7% increase is going to affect much. And the economy is far from a standstill, except in your one syllable mind, gretsky. I would explain it, but it would take more words you don't know to do it.
I read the article and its a 7% increase in the price of electricity over 11 years. During the same period to 2025 the wholesale price of natural gas will increase about 60% which will lead to the 7% increase. The 150% increase is by the year 2040. The Daily Caller makes it look like its some sort of doomsday scenario. They also didnt separate out the cost of electricity from a gas fired plant and the cost from a coal fired plant. The article tries to make it look like a 7% increase is outrageous.
Remember, when the government says 7% rise, they mean 70%...
