I had a cop search my car when I was a teenager due to being a young male; he didn't care that I was white. If I had been female, he probably would not have. He said he thought I had marijuana in the car, etc.

I disagree with stop and frisk; however, while it may disproportionately affect minorities, it's not because they're minorities. It's because the minorities are more likely to be in dangerous/high crime areas and, yes,are more likely to be involved in activities that seem suspicious. Females would be privileged here as well.

As far as hiring processes, I suppose it may have an impact at some places. As someone who has participated in employee selection, I can tell you I've always been very, very careful to avoid discriminating.

Yeah...that is laughable. About 60% of college students I believe are women in this day and age.

Female Privilege;

Why Do Women Outnumber Men in College?

Report says women are graduating from California colleges more than men

Women Now 33% More Likely Than Men to Earn College Degrees

Young, single, childless women out-earn male counterparts

Now all the minority men on this board are looking over at the ladies, going WTF!?

No. Do you think people in white ghettos have it much better? My point was it has to do with socioeconomic status, not race. Obviously there is correlation.

yes... but those countries have a different set of rules for privilege. When I went to college I learned Koreans were at the top, Japan, China...and Filipino is at the bottom.

I'm sure they also have ranks within each country by Bloodline or whatever rules they had throughout history.

India has a caste system and people went crazy when universities started letting a small % of the lowest caste take classes. They refuse to sit or touch someone from the Untouchables...

We've known it for years...

Affirmative Action benefited white women more than any other group but most don't like to hear about that part of it.

I wouldn't know but since I grew up in the rust belt outside of Pittsburgh I know most of the cops in poor white neighborhoods tend to treat their own with a much softer hand than they do Blacks.

I've heard about the caste system in India, thanks for that link. So here in America what people refer to white privilege is that we are born white in a majority white country and that is an advantage? Is that about right? I agree with that. The next question then becomes, are people able to succeed in this country despite not being the majority or white? And to what extent are white people holding down those minorities? What percentage of success by minorities would it take in order for there no longer to be white privilege? Because, obviously 100% of white people here are not successful, just go to any WalMart or look in the Red States that are so poor. How far away are we from a good number of minorities being sucessful in a white country? And, do we count those pesky Asians ones who seem to come in and do pretty well almost from the time they get here?
